To protect the privacy of MWW members who host events, we have omitted last names and locations. This calendar provides examples of our events for prospective members and serves as a convenience for current members, whose newsletters contain the details.

SIGnificant notes

[new]  DEADLINES, RSVP'S, ETC. The following calendar items have deadlines and/or RSVP requests:

  • Gordon W. Hackbarth Memorial Lunch Bunch (September 1st) — RSVP by the preceding Monday.
  • Dining Out SIG (September 21st) — RSVP as soon as possible.
  • Wallingford Lunch Bunch (September 22nd) — RSVP by 11:00 am.
  • Mensa Poker SIG (September 24th) — RSVP by the 23rd.

[new]  LABOR DAY CHANGES. The following calendar items have been added, moved, or canceled because of the holiday:

  • Womens Bathroom SIG is taking the month off; look for it to return in October.
  • Coffee With the LocSec moves to the 6th this month only.
  • Labor Day Open House with Joe and Susi — see September 6th for details.
  • MOTG (Monday is Over Thank God!) will not meet on the 6th; it will pick up again on the 13th.

[new]  MENSA TEST. The next Mensa test is scheduled for September 18th, depending on interest and proctor availability. If you know someone who would like to take the test, please have them email wwmensa%hotmail.com (see Email) for information.

BUS ROUTE INFORMATION. To find out detailed route and time information in King County, contact Metro Rider Information at 206-553-3000 or log on to Metro Transit Online Trip Planner. If route information is provided for a specific event, it will be included here.

MWW events are organized by members like you. If you don’t see an event that interests you, start one! Just check the monthly calendar for a good date, then send event information to the Editor (mwwtotems%gmail.com – see Email) by the 10th of the month prior to the event. It’s that simple!

At EPULO BISTRO, 526 Main Street in Edmonds. Food combines Mediterranean, Spanish, and Italian influences. On Tuesdays, they have a 4-course, $19 Tuesday Tasting Menu (with optional wine flight), or you can order whatever you wish from the menu. You can also ride the train to Edmonds and walk about 7 or 8 blocks to the restaurant.

2011 AG in Portland, Oregon!
This will be the FIRST EVER AG to be held in the Pacific Northwest! It will be held at the downtown Hilton Hotels (2). It’s also Portland’s Blues Festival weekend. It will be a joint effort between MWW and Oregon Mensa; so if you want to be a part of it, please contact Michael, the AG Chair (2011AGChair%comcast.net – see Email). We will need all manner of help, including-but-not-limited-to introducing speakers and hospitality (minimal need of 15 per day, since we are hiring a caterer). If you are interested in hosting a specific game tournament, contact Donna (dprior%inbox.com – see Email). If you know of a really good speaker — Jean Auel has already agreed to speak at the AG as part of our Arts and Authors track — please contact Mary at the AG Chair email address above.
