To protect the privacy of MWW members who host events, we have omitted last names and locations. This calendar provides examples of our events for prospective members and serves as a convenience for current members, whose newsletters contain the details.

SIGnificant notes

DEADLINES, RSVP'S, ETC. The following calendar items have deadlines and/or RSVP requests: Gordon W. Hackbarth Memorial Lunch Bunch (January 6th) — RSVP by the preceding Monday. Mensa MasterMind SIG (January 7th) — RSVP no later than the 6th. Mensa Entrepeneur SIG (January 8th) — RSVP no later than the 7th. For Women Only: An Afternoon at the OLYMPUS SPA (January 9th) — RSVP no later than the 2nd. Dining Out SIG (January 19th) — RSVP no later than the 18th. Wallingford Lunch Bunch (January 27th) — RSVP by 11:00 am.
STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING. The Quarterly SteerCom meeting will be held before the Monthly Gathering. See January 16th for details.
FIRST FRIDAY IN BELLINGHAM and the MENSA POKER SIG are taking the month off.
MENSA TEST. There will be no Mensa test this month. If you know someone who would like to take the test, please have them contact the proctor coordinator (testing%westernwashington.us.mensa.org – see Email) to make arrangements.
BUS ROUTE INFORMATION. To find out detailed route and time information in King County, contact Metro Rider Information at 206-553-3000 or log on to Metro Online. If route information is provided for a specific event, it will be included here.
MWW events are organized by members like you. If you don’t see an event that interests you, start one! Just check the monthly calendar for a good date, then send event information to the Editor (mwwtotems%gmail.com – see Email) by the 10th of the month prior to the event. It’s that simple!

2	Sat	1:00 pm	Port Townsend Lunch Bunch Bayview Restaurant on Water Street (next to the ferry dock). Look for a Toyota FJ Cruiser with a personalized license plate in the parking lot and a seasoned citizen with a ToteMs in his possession in the restaurant. 6	Sun	2:00 pm - 5:00 pm	Women's Bathroom SIG Join us to discuss women's issues. Bring a snack or beverage to share; chocolate is especially welcome. Confidentiality is an absolute requirement. Adult women are welcome. The January meeting will be at Marsha's in Seattle; contact her for information or directions. This month's theme is a "White Elephant gift exchange." 5	Tue	7:00 pm - 8:00 pm	Coffee With the LocSec and Others Coffee with the Local Secretary! Join Ed and others for a cup of coffee or tea at the Starbucks on Westlake Avenue on the southwest end of Lake Union (1200 N Westlake Ave) in Seattle. No agenda, no program, just coffee, conversation, and interesting people.

7	Thu	7:00 pm	Mensa MasterMind SIG Mensa MasterMind SIG is based on the Napolean Hill model. Claire was in a MasterMind Group for 10 years and everyone reached his/her goals EVERY month. 8	Fri	7:00 pm	Mensa Entrepreneur SIG Calling all entrepreneurs, wannabe entrepreneurs, persons between jobs, venture capitalists! Mensa Start a Business Idea Strategy Planning SIG now forming. If we are so smart, we should be able to come up with the next great business idea(s). We have no idea where this may lead; but it is the beginning. Let's get together and brainstorm. 8	Fri	7:30 pm	Mensa Movie Night At Gregor's in Kirkland. Attendees are welcome to bring movies that match this month's theme (Favorite Movies), and will vote from those available on a movie to watch. 9	Sat	12:00 noon	For Women Only: An Afternoon at the OLYMPUS SPA You can meet for lunch then enjoy the spa, or join the group after lunch and leave . . . whenever. 9	Sat	7:30 pm	Games North This month at Loretta's in North Seattle. Bring a favorite game and a snack to share. We tend toward verbal (and lyrical) games, but we are capable of flexing. If you don’t play, show up anyway for camaraderie. Contact Loretta for more information or directions.

13	Wed	12:00 noon	Grand Central Bakery Lunch Bunch The Grand Central Bakery Inc, 214 First Avenue South. The entrance doesn't look like much, but inside is an arcade with several sources of food and a place selling collector maps and a lot of stuff downstairs. 16	Sat	7:00 pm	Monthly Gathering Dr John Stutterheim will speak on his book, The Diary of Prisoner 17326: A Boy's Life in a Japanese Labor Camp, which describes his experiences during World War II. Feel free to bring a guest. The fun begins at 7:00 pm, with the presentation afterward. There will be one kitty for voluntary contributions to defray to cost of the food and meeting room, and a separate kitty if you want to help subsidize an annual membership for member(s) having economic difficulties.
17	Sun	2:00 pm	PENSA (Mensa Writers Group) MEN and WOMEN Welcome. This group is for Mensa writers, whether in the closet or fabulously published, to enjoy like fellowship, support and advice.
