Calendar

This page describes our upcoming events. Be sure to check out the SIGnificant notes section!

Unlike the calendar created for the public part of our site, this calendar contains the contact information for each event.

MWW events are organized by members like you. If you don’t see an event that interests you, start one! Just check the monthly calendar for a good date, then send event information to the Editor (calendar@mensaww.org) by the 10th of the month prior to the event. It’s that simple!

6:30 pm Monthly Gathering
At the BELLEVUE RED LION. The hotel is right off Highway 405 at 11211 Main Street, and of course there is plenty of free parking. Our social time will start at 6:30, with varying light catered food, coffee, and tea. The program starts around 7. Cash bar on site.

On January 19, our first MG of the new year will start off with a bang — the Big Bang that is! But we won’t stop there. Our own Brian Tillotson PhD will guide us through some big qestions. For example, we still don’t know how things got started in the first 10-47 of a second, nor what mechanism led to a universe with slightly more matter than antimatter. But scientists do have some ideas, and we know a whole lot about our universe’s current journey from the Big Bang to its eventual disappearance in the darkness, millions of years from now.
In his twenty-five years in the aerospace industry, Brian has been paid to use dirt as rocket propellant, program a robot to learn from experience, float in zero gravity aboard NASA’s "Vomit Comet" airplane, levitate water with a magnet, and measure how much stars twinkle. He has a bachelor’s degree in Physics and a PhD in Artificial intelligence.
